About Mr Edward Niland

Mr Edward Niland is a Neuromuscular Therapist and Sport Scientist. As founder of Enlightened Athletic Therapy, he specialises using Massage therapy and S&C to assess, treat, and rehabilitate both acute and chronic pain conditions, sport and occupational.

I also work as a Medical Exercise Instructor, working with those with Chronic Conditions that limit exercise participation. Diabetes, COPD, Heart & Lung and Blood clotting issues. Completing my BACPR Specialist Exercise Instructor Course for people with Long Term Conditions. I am also on the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) Ireland and the Irish Sport and Exercise Sciences Association (ISESA).Long-term Conditions Exercise Instructors and Graduate Exercise Professional.

Using the relationship between the nervous system and soft tissues - muscles, tendons, and fascia, helping clients restore movement, reduce pain, and improve overall function. He works with individuals experiencing back and neck pain, repetitive strain injuries, sports and occupational injuries, and chronic conditions. back and joint pain.

Edward also provides a range of Sport Science services for those with competition goals including

- Physiological - Physical fitness testing, training plans, S&C programming;

- Biomechanical - Bike Fitting, Running & Walking Gait anlaysis;

- Data analysis - Training Loads, Progressions performance analysis; 

- Psychological - PST training, Lifestyle balance;  

A strong advocate for evidence-based practice, Edward holds a BSc in Sports and Exercise Science and an MSc in Sports Performance, both from the University of Limerick.

Strength & Conditioning Coach & Practicitioner with IUSCA, NSCA, UKSCA.

Leve 2 Coach in Athletics & Orienteering.

Neuromuscular & Orthopaedic Sports Massage Therapist from National Training Centre (NSSM) Dublin, and a is a member of the Association of Neuromuscular and Massage Therapists and is committed to delivering high-quality, research-informed care to every client.
