About Mr. Deb Roy

Mr. Deb Roy is a Consultant Spinal Neurosurgeon currently practicing within the Mater Private Network at Dublin Hospital, Limerick Spine Centre and Kilkenny Spine Centre. His areas of expertise include cervical and lumbar disc prolapse, degenerative conditions of the spine, spinal deformity, tumours, trauma, minimally invasive, lateral access fusion surgery as well as robot-assisted spine surgery.

Mr. Roy graduated with an MBBS from Kasturba Medical College in 2000 before completing his basic surgical training in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, where he was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He went on to complete higher specialist training in Neurosurgery in the West Midlands, gaining his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Neurosurgery.

In 2013, he was awarded the Travelling Fellowship from the North American Spine Society (NASS), which allowed him to train with leading spinal surgeons in the United States. He subsequently completed two prestigious fellowships: an AO Spine–recognised Orthopaedic & Spine Fellowship in Adelaide, Australia, and a Neurosurgical Spinal Fellowship at Salford Royal Hospital in Manchester, UK. He later served as a Consultant Spinal Neurosurgeon at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, one of the UK’s largest neurosurgical centres.

Qualifications

Mr. Deb Roy graduated with a medicine degree (MBBS) from Kasturba Medical College in 2000. He completed his basic surgical training in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, where he was awarded the Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons and the Certificate of Completion of Basic Surgical Training. After completing specialist training in neurosurgery he obtained Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons.
