Mr David Hynes is an accredited psychotherapist who brings a uniquely grounded and compassionate approach to his work. Holding a Higher  Diploma from University College Dublin, he specialises in supporting clients struggling with addiction, including alcohol, drugs, and gambling  well as those navigating stress, anxiety, and trauma. David uses Motivational  Interviewing, C.B.T and Mediation   David works with individuals, couples, and family members, creating a safe and non-judgemental space where clients can explore their challenges at their own pace.

Alongside his private practice, David is part of the Cornmarket Project in Wexford, where he contributes to community-based therapeutic support. His diverse professional background deeply enriches his practice and before training as a psychotherapist, David served as an elected public representative for 27 years, including two terms as Mayor of Wexford. These experiences give him an exceptional understanding of the real-world pressures faced by individuals and families.

David’s personal journey through addiction and recovery further shapes his empathetic, client-centred approach. He believes in meeting people exactly where they are, offering practical, supportive guidance rooted in lived experience. Sessions are available both in person and online, with Zoom used for remote appointments.
