Ms Ciara Crotty

Ms Ciara Crotty is an Art Therapist working in private practice with children, adolescents, and adults, with a particular interest in developmental trauma, somatic healing, loss, and bereavement support. Her therapeutic approach centres on creating a safe, compassionate environment where individuals can reconnect with their inner resilience and sense of self.

Ciara believes that every person holds an innate wisdom and capacity for healing. Her work focuses on supporting people experiencing emotional overwhelm, stress, trauma-related difficulties, and the lasting effects of early relational wounds. Through gentle therapeutic guidance and embodied approaches, she helps clients explore their experiences and develop a greater sense of safety and ease within themselves and their relationships.

She integrates creative and touch-informed therapeutic modalities into her practice, including Clay Field Therapy and Transforming Touch, particularly for individuals carrying preverbal or developmental trauma that may be difficult to access through words alone. Her work emphasises somatic awareness, emotional regulation, and relational healing.

Ms Crotty has a background in general nursing and theatre nursing, bringing extensive clinical care experience into her therapeutic practice. She holds an MA (Hons) in Art Therapy from CIT Crawford College and is a member of the Irish Association for Creative Arts Therapists.

She has a particular passion for the “Work at the Clay Field” technique, which she uses to support adults and children who have experienced traumatic life events, grief, and bereavement. Combining years of healthcare experience with specialised art therapy training, Ciara offers a trauma-informed and deeply compassionate therapeutic approach focused on healing, emotional expression, and recovery.
