About Dr. Catherine Riordan
Dr. Catherine Riordan has over 35 years of experience in women’s health, urology and fertility. She graduated from University College Dublin (UCD) in 1988 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in England in 1993. Throughout her career, Dr. Riordan has developed a unique and comprehensive skill set, particularly during her tenure at two of Ireland’s busiest IVF clinics, where she gained a deep understanding of the complexities and challenges of fertility treatment.
Recognising that large fertility clinics, while essential, may not always provide the personalised care some patients need, Dr. Riordan established her own fertility service in 2021. This community-based clinic offers a tailored approach, bridging the gap between the high-volume, clinical environment of IVF centers and the often limited resources of general practice. She brings together a team of highly skilled and like-minded professionals with whom she has collaborated for many years.
Dr. Riordan maintains a strong connection with IVF through her affiliation with First IVF, where she performs oocyte retrievals and embryo transfers. She also collaborates closely with colleagues in some of the main IVF clinics in Dublin. For patients requiring advanced treatment, she ensures seamless access to these services while continuing to provide personalised care.
She is an active member of several prestigious organisations, including the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), the British Fertility Society (BFS), and the Society for the Study of Male Reproduction (SSMR).

Dr Catherine was so nice and clarify everything about the exam and helped me to feel comfortable, as I told her that I was bit afraid to the exam, so she was great!

Dr Riordan is so responsive and caring with any queries I have raised. She responds to emails so quickly. She even offered to ring me on her drive into work to discuss a query I raised as she sensed I was anxious.
