Dr. Anum Sarwar

Dr. Anum Sarwar is a dedicated medical professional who obtained her MBBS in 2016 from the University of Medical and Dental College in Faisalabad, Pakistan. 

Currently, Dr. Sarwar serves as a Senior House Officer in the Emergency Department at Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar, County Mayo, Ireland, a role she has held since 2022. In addition, she has been working as a Women Medical Officer in the Emergency Medicine Department at Lahore General Hospital, Pakistan, since January, further extending his expertise in emergency care and acute management. Prior to these roles, she worked as a Women Medical Officer in the Medicine Department at Rahat Hospital in Mandi Bahauddin, Pakistan, from 2019 to 2021, and as a House Officer at Lahore General Hospital from 2018 to 2019.

Dr. Sarwar’s clinical rotations have included General Surgery, General Medicine, Radiology, and Otorhinolaryngology, broadening her practical experience across a spectrum of medical specialties. She has actively participated in numerous workshops and courses to enhance her skills; these include Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) courses, as well as an intensive Punjab emergency services workshop in January 2016. During her house job, she also completed a one-month intensive care unit rotation and gained practical experience in a diabetes clinic.

Her academic involvement extends beyond clinical practice, having delivered several presentations during her house officer tenure on topics such as obesity, hyperglycemic control in emergency settings, hypertension, basic airway management, and the Glasgow Coma Scale with intubation techniques. Additionally, she contributed to a research project examining the relationship between obesity and the risk of diabetes as part of her community medicine course.
