Dr. André Nel

Dr. André Nel began his medical career in emergency medicine and general practice. He qualified from the University of Pretoria in South Africa and is registered to practice in the UK, Ireland, South Africa, and Canada. Dr. Nel is a Fellow of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (FISHRS), a Diplomate of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS), and a dedicated member of the ISHRS.

Since 2008, Dr. Nel has focused on hair restoration surgery. His expertise lies in the FUE (Follicle Unit Excision) technique and a combination approach that blends FUE with LSE (Linear Strip Excision). He further refines his practice by harvesting hair from the beard area below the jaw line, which maximises graft yield while protecting donor areas. This careful method is especially valuable in cases that require a large number of follicle units per session or over a patient’s lifetime.

In addition to his hair restoration work, Dr. Nel is well-trained in emergency care, holding certifications in ATLS, AMLS, ACLS, and BLS. His broad skill set, combined with his specialised techniques in hair restoration, makes him a trusted expert in his field, committed to delivering lasting and natural-looking results.
