I was referred to Dr Nnochiri by my insurers. From my initial consultation with him to the point of surgery took approximately two months. We discussed the various forms of treatment for my condition, also the pros and cons. He asked me to go away, think about the options and revert to him with any questions and my decision. We concluded on a laparoscopic subtotal hysterectomy as I wanted to retain my uterus. I had never had any form of surgery so was very apprehensive and nervous. He made me feel at ease. I had an open myomectomy. I'd had a similar operation c10 years previously so was naturally apprehensive. At the initial consultation Mr Nnochuri took time to describe all the possible treatment options, the pros and cons of each, allowing me to come to an informed decision. Most importantly Mr Nnochuri asked what I wanted to achieve post-op. I wished to do everything to retain my uterus, not necessarily for future pregnancy but because it was important to my overall well-being and how I feel as a woman. I had 49 fibroids removed and have made a good recovery thus far (I am 4 weeks post-op). I have been left with a very neat scar as Mr Nnochuri tidied up the c1.5cm wide scar I'd been left with from the operation c10 years previous.
