Mr Shane O'Neill is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in minimally invasive foot and ankle surgery. A graduate of Trinity College Dublin, he completed his Higher Surgical Training in trauma and orthopaedics in 2020 and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (FRCS Tr & Orth). He completed a first class honours Master of Surgery degree in 2014 from the Royal College of Surgeons and later, in 2020, earned a Master of Science degree from University College Cork. In addition to his postgraduate studies, Mr O Neill obtained an advanced diploma in medical law from King's Inns in 2022.
Following his specialist training, Mr O'Neill pursued international expertise through a prestigious North American fellowship at Dalhousie University in Canada. Here he gained expertise in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, trauma and sports related foot and ankle injuries.
Currently, he serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at University College Dublin and is an active leader in his field, holding the position of Secretary for the Irish Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.
Mr O Neill has a special interest in minimally invasive foot and ankle surgery and is committed to evidence-based care for his patients.
