Some search results on Doctify may be marked as “Sponsored.” These are healthcare providers who have paid for increased visibility on our platform. Sponsored searches appear at the top of relevant searches. All sponsored profiles are clearly marked to patients, with a tool tip which explains why they appear at the top of a search.
In order to appear as a “Sponsored” search, a specialist must actively practice in the relevant specialty, have received a minimum number of patient reviews, and maintain a certain trust score. A sponsored position in no way affects any of the reviews, trust scores, or any other elements of a profile.
As mentioned, sponsored results are displayed at the top of relevant search listings. The remainder of search results are determined by our standard objective ranking algorithm. This algorithm takes into account factors such as a provider’s distance from your search location, the number of their reviews and endorsements, the relevance and number of reviews for specific conditions or procedures, and how complete their profile is. If a specialist has a sponsored listing, they will also appear in the organic results.
