From our first meeting Professor Persad put me at ease and explained everything clearly. I felt very comfortable with the attention I received and the follow up conversations.

I had excellent care from Prof Persad before during and after he performed both a radical prostatectomy and a later insertion of a penile implant. He was always highly professional throughout. His warm and friendly approach always put me at ease. He was empathetic and caring with an essential and helpful good sense of humour. My care felt individualised and he was sensitive to my situation for both me and my partner. He gave careful and thorough explanations at every stage appropriately tailored to our levels of understanding. His follow up care has been extremely attentive. I felt though all of my procedures which became quite complicated that he always had both mine and our best interests at heart. I couldn’t recommend him more highly.

Very efficient

After a consultation and the various tests Professor Persad recommended the Rezum operation for my enlarged benign prostate. He clearly explained the procedure reassured me about what benefits I could expect. The surgery itself was very smooth and efficient and in recovery he was there to brief me on how it had gone. I needed a catheter for two weeks and I did find this more uncomfortable than I had expected, and the two weeks after it was removed weren’t much better, but suddenly after 5 weeks the improvements were almost instantaneous- with a flow rate just like I last experienced as a 20 year old, with no discomfort, as I now am able to completely empty my bladder when I need to. I would have no hesitation in recommending Professor Persad and the Rezum procedure.

I have always found that Professor Raj Persad took time to listen to what I had to say. I totally trusted his judgement and that he was always so courteous and came over more as a friend looking after my heath. He gave me much support at the times when I needed reassurance the most. From the first consultation I felt complete confidence in the Professor’s advice. He clearly explained the treatment that was required and very quickly dismissed the other options that had been put to me. The operation was quick and painless and I was able to return home the same day. The follow up review with the Professor was very positive and he outlined the likely future treatment and life changes that I could expect. My condition has unexpectedly improved more than either of us expected and 6 months on from the operation I am leading a normal pain free life. My experience under the care of the Professor has been exceptional and I cannot praise him enough for his professionalism and his positivity.
