Last week, we held our third GP event at Google HQ in partnership with MyLocumManager and Echo. The event was one in a series of inspirational CPD gatherings for busy General Practitioners and featured talks from three leading healthcare professionals.
The Event Rundown
Continuing Professional Development can sometimes feel like a culture of performativity which sees you jumping through hoops in already busy working life. We’re on a mission to change this. By co-ordinating expert-led talks in exceptional venues, we want you to be learning something new, be inspired, and most importantly, have a great time!
This particular event took place at Google’s incredible King’s Cross Headquarters, where leading gynaecologists Mr James Nicopoullos, Professor Christina Fotopoulou and Clinical Director at Echo, Alistair Murray discussed women’s health, from fertility to menopause and what you, as a GP, need to look out for. This fantastic event welcomed nearly 200 GPs who attended in the pursuit of extra knowledge and stayed for some serious networking, with drinks and snacks kindly provided by Google’s chefs!
About Our Speakers
Mr James Nicopoullos is a lead consultant at the Lister Fertility Clinic, an internationally renowned London fertility clinic. Trained as a consultant gynaecologist and sub-specialised in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery, Mr Nicopoullos is an expert in low ovarian reserve, implantation failure, polycystic ovarian syndrome, recurrent miscarriage, premature ovarian failure and menopause.
Professor Christina Fotopoulou is a consultant gynaecological oncologist at Queen Charlotte’s & Chelsea Hospital, London. She was trained in obstetrics and gynaecology with a sub-specialism in gynaecological oncology. Her principal area of clinical practice relates to ultra-radical surgery for advanced and relapsed ovarian cancer and in general advanced gynaecological cancer. Professor Fotopoulou has broad experience in national and international clinical and surgical trial in gynaecological cancers and is involved in the British, German and European committees for guidelines development in ovarian cancer.
Alistair Murray is a pharmacist and a Clinical Director at Echo, a free service that delivers medicine to your door. Trained at the University of Nottingham where he is an honorary Assistant Professor, Alistair has a wealth of experience in the healthcare industry. He is also an independent prescriber and helped to develop vital pilots for pharmacists working in GP Practices.
