Explanation

I was referred to Mr. Sacheen Kumar from Kingston Hospital. I found Mr. Kumar, professional, approachable and caring. My diagnosis was plainly described and the options available to me. I decided to have an operation and the procedure was clearly explained. As a patient, I felt "I was in good hands' under his care. Mr. Kumar visited me regularly during my hospital stay, reassuring me if I had any concerns. I am pleased with the results.

When I meet Mr Kumar I was very worried about the symptoms could indicate cancer. He arranged a first appointment within 36 hours. Seeing him was a huge relief, he confirmed the risk of cancer to be very low and quickly arranged for me to have all tests completed. Through out the process he kept checking in with me. His executive assistant was also very kind and supportive.

At our very first meeting I was immensely reassured by Mr Kumar's succinct assessment of my condition , his knowledge, his experienced team and what steps he would be taking to treat me. He put my mind at rest and told me not to worry. "I will do the worrying" he said. From that moment on Mr Kumar took over. He assembled his team at short notice and sorted me out quickly. After the operation he came to visit me pretty much every day whilst in hospital continuing to care for and reassure me. Since discharge he has painstakingly supervised my recovery. I willl never ba able to thank him enough for what he has done for me.

A brilliant surgeon, he is also a superb enthusiastic communicator of what he can do and plans to achieve with his surgery. I had complete confidence in his ability to cure me of my cancer in a 13+ hour operation and did just that. His follow-up has been impeccable. I cannot speak too highly of him and his team and colleagues for their professionalism.

From our first meeting I found Mr Kumar to be upbeat, yet very clear in his diagnosis and next steps. He is highly competent and willing to listen, a good and encouraging communicator. During the past year plus of treatment, surgery and follow up, he and his admin team have been helpful, accommodating, polite, and endlessly reassuring at what has been a challenging time. I have been impressed by the degree of personal contact whether face-to-face or a phonecall.
