Mr Alwitry is excellent. Has always made me feel at ease and provided me with prompt excellent care. I have moved recently but still want to deal with Mr Alwitry so travel over 120 miles as I wouldn’t trust my eye care with anyone else.

I cannot thank Mr Alwitry enough. He took over my care for a central retinal vein occlusion when the NHS failed me. He has at all times treated me wonderfully, taking great care to explain everything and inviting me to ask questions. I dread to think what may have happened without his intervention. I would recommend Mr Alwitry to anyone. His manner with patients and knowledge is exemplary. It was a pleasure to be in his care and I have had a very successful outcome. Since Mr Alwitry took over my care from Boston Pilgrims ophthalmology department I feel completely secure that I have a team that will monitor and act to minimise my sight loss. I have followed Mr Alwitry in to his private practice away from the NHS for exactly these reasons.

Mr Alwitry is an outstanding Consultant Cataract and Ophthalmic Surgeon. He impressed me immediately by his reassuring and calming manner, which puts you at ease and makes you feel totally confident in his advice and recommendations. As previously having refractive Lasik Laser surgery some years ago to correct short sightedness, I was apprehensive of what results I would have after cataract surgery. With Mr Alwitry’s expertise and extensive knowledge, the results have been amazing. My new eyes have exceeded my expectations, I am so thrilled. I have received both cataract surgery and YAG treatment in both eyes by Mr Alwitry. Thank you for both to Nicola (Chapman) Mr Alwitry’s PA who was extremely helpful and Mr Alwitry who is Absolutely Amazing. Thank you for your level of care you have given to me.

Mr Alwitry is incredibly knowledgeable and skilled and he has a very pleasant, informal manner, coupled with an amazing sense of humour. He told me he was the best in his field and he certainly seems to be!! My cataract surgery was performed quickly after the first consultation, very professionally and both procedures went perfectly. There was no pain and little discomfort after the procedures and both eyes healed well and quickly. I had good vision in each eye the next morning after the procedures, which improved noticeably as each day went by.

Mr Alwitry is clearly a ninja master at his given area of expertise. He is an excellent communicator and combines this with a a good sense of humour which puts patients at their ease.

Positive professional understanding approach, encouraging whilst spelling it out, making very sure that I understood. Regarding my PTSD concerns again he was very positive that these would be taken on board and dealt with - and they were. Follow up when I was concerned was immediate and again encouraging. Throughout whilst dealing with me, I had his whole attention.
