Dr. Prajakta Patil is a Consultant Psychiatrist, with over 20 years experience. She works partly in the NHS, as a medical educator, Clinical lecturer and Simulation and Quality Improvement Lead for medical students, and the judiciary, alongside her private practice. She has been appointed as a Medical Expert by the General Medical Council. She was previously as member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists`Neurodevelopmental Special Interest Group Executive Committee and currently is a Deputy Regional Advisor for the South Eastern Division of the Royal College. She was conferred Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2023 in recognition of her contributions and dedication to the field of Psychiatry.  She is also a peer reviewer for the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) and an Examiner for Postgraduate Membership exams (CASC) at the Royal College.

Dr Patil originally qualified from Mumbai, and obtained membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2008. She has obtained a Diploma in Mental Health Law and a postgraduate qualification in Child Law, both from Northumbria University. She trained in London and Northern Deanery and completed her higher specialist training in Forensic Psychiatry at South West London and St George`s NHS Trust, where she worked as a Consultant, before moving to Kent and Medway NHS Partnership Trust.

Over the years Dr. Patil has actively engaged in patient and medical education, contributing to peer-reviewed journal publications and presentations at national and international conferences. In the past, she has worked as a research psychiatrist in a clinical trial involving ADHD treatment in prisons.

Her extensive knowledge and experience cover a wide range of mental health problems, including anxiety, depression, phobias, PTSD and trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder, psychosis, adult ADHD, and autism.

Dr. Patil's ability to communicate in English, Hindi, and Marathi allows her to provide consultations in these languages, while also understanding Urdu and Punjabi reasonably well.
