Dr Balasubramanian has dedicated his medical career to the care of children, embarking on this path after qualifying as a doctor in 1993. His journey led him to a comprehensive higher specialist training across esteemed teaching hospitals in London. During this transformative phase, he actively contributed to the Children's Acute Transport Service, a crucial role that saw him at the forefront of medical care for critically ill children at the renowned Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and St Mary's Hospital London.

In 2008, Dr Bala earned a coveted spot on the GMC's specialist register, a testament to his expertise and commitment. His appointment as a Consultant Paediatrician at Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital in Kent marked a pivotal juncture in his illustrious career. With a focus on paediatric cardiology and nephrology, he fosters close collaborations with the Royal Brompton Hospital London's esteemed cardiologists and the nephrologists at the prestigious Evelina Children's Hospital London.

A true advocate of education and knowledge dissemination, Dr Bala is an active educator. He imparts his wisdom to aspiring medical students from King's College London and St George's University London, while also holding the esteemed position of a visiting lecturer at London South Bank University. He is deeply involved in enhancing medical preparedness, particularly in the realm of paediatric simulation and resuscitation training.
