We attended The Portland Hospital yesterday as Dr Lowe was treating our son’s asymptomatic pre-excitation. A worrying time was made so much easier by the wonderful staff and what was a very stressful day made so much better by all we dealt with, we received excellent expert care throughout.

The link with Re:Cognition was easy. The service was outstanding. The wealth of information held by individuals, and their knowledge, was first class.

I received excellent medical advice and care throughout. The hospital is very well run, the nursing staff excellent and the operation went very smoothly

Entering the lady at reception says straight down the corridor to room 6. Door at the end of the corridor says waiting room 3 so I go back and ask and she says yes. Going in, room 6 says do not disturb. But I’m wondering if it’s been left like that by accident. There’s the sound of wind playing but no sign explaining why so I spend a few minutes trying to figure out if it’s wind or a speaker. This could be handled by explaining clearly where to go and what will happen - particularly important to people who are neurodivergent, which is why I’m here. I’m anxious enough without extra cognitive load. She could say “Straight down the corridor into waiting room 3, the doctor is in room 6. If it shows do not disturb then wait and he’ll be with you shortly. There’s a speaker playing wind sounds to try to put you at ease.”
