Professor Brookes’s diagnosis of what my very unusual problem could be and explanation of what he intended to do about it, gave me full confidence in him, from the outset. The surgery & work Dr Makalanda is doing, really is life changing, for so many people. After CT scans it was clear I had a blockage, in what I called my brain vein! Or Intercranial Venous Sinus. Yay, finally a diagnosis! When I met Dr Makalanda he gave me hope. Yes there were risks involved with surgery, but any surgery has risks, right? This surgery needs to be more widely available & GP’s educated that not all Tinnitus is the same! Dr Makalanda is a wonderful doctor, kind, caring & super clever! He explained the complicated surgery to me & throughout I felt in the safest hands. I will be forever grateful to him, for giving me my life. Silence now, really is golden.
