Mr. Am Rai is a highly experienced spinal surgeon in the UK with over 30 years of experience. He specialises in treating various spinal conditions and has transformed spinal procedures with his minimally invasive approach.
Mr. Rai's philosophy is to treat each patient as an individual, providing the best care possible, just as he would for his own family. He understands the challenges of spinal diseases firsthand, as he has undergone spinal surgery himself.
Throughout his career, Mr. Rai has performed over 10,000 operations, spanning a wide range including operations for spinal stenosis, cervical fusion, disc replacement, scoliosis and minimal access keyhole surgery. He believes in exploring all conservative treatment options before considering surgery, and he has a 5-star rating for his expertise and outcomes, as recorded on the British Spinal Register.
In addition to his clinical work, he has served as President of the British Association of Spinal Surgeons (BASS) and directed a spinal charity called Spine Aid. I found Mr Rai to be professional, confident and thorough in his assessment of my condition, he clearly placed the opinions before me and allowed me to make the decision as to what treatment to choose. As a retired nurse myself it was really helpful, from the beginning, to have a full explanation of the problem and also to see the images of the MRI scan, I appreciated having the procedure explained and what to expect in the weeks following surgery.
