After discovering a thyroid mass on the right side of my neck, I was lucky enough to be referred to Dr. Raghav Dwivedi at UCLH. After two biopsies, the results showed that Thy3a had been upgraded to Thy3f. Dr. Raghav Dwivedi said the chance of cancer increased to 25% and advised me to have a right hemithyroidectomy. I was worried about the side effects of the surgery, but Dr. Raghav Dwivedi reassured me and he was very patient in answering all my questions before the procedure. A week after the surgery, I took off the waterproof plaster and I was impressed that the scar looked better than I expected. I was referred to an ENT specialist for an ongoing issue with tinnitus and an intermittent sharp pain behind my eyes which was making sleep difficult. Several trips to the GP had not resolved the issue and I was getting concerned that there was something serious causing the symptoms. I chose Mr Dwivedi from a list of consultants based on his extensive experience in his field of expertise. Mr Dwivedi listened patently to me and referred me for hearing tests, an MRI scan of my head and allergy testing. Basically, he didn’t try and fob me off and took my complaints seriously. From his initial examination he was able to diagnose and prescribe a course of daily nasal spray that reduced the tinnitus after a few days and within a couple of weeks it had gone completely. The subsequent blood tests and MRI scan were able to rule out anything more serious. I was diagnosed with Allergic Rhinitis (hay fever) and nasal blockage caused by a deviated septum and other food and mould allergies. I can now manage my health significantly better by avoiding these triggers. I would recommend MR Dwivedi without hesitation to anyone looking for an ENT specialist doctor/surgeon.
