Thank you for your kind review.
I had shoulder surgery back in Sept 2016. Professor Tony Kochhar was the surgeon who performed the operation, and who consulted me beforehand. I have to say looking back, and that's the reason for writing this so long after the operation - that I'm very grateful contacting and asking Professor Kochhar to undertake the operation. It's been a huge success as far as I'm concerned. I don't even know how I hurt my shoulder, I suspect it was some wear and tear as I did a lot of sports when I was younger. Rugby, Rowing, Boxing and weight training. Anyway my shoulder used to ache and ache, even at night. I kept trying Physiotherapy, but it didnt really work at all. In my mind, listening to my body, it had to be fixed with a surgical procedure. The pain started to get really bad, I was stupid and kept trying to train myself through it. It wasnt quite as simple as that, some days were better than others, but the dull aching pain in my neck, around the traps, and between the shoulder blades was always there. I found I could get used to the pain, to some extent, but eventually my range of movement was getting restricted, pain was getting worse, and then I noticed I couldn't properly flex my arm, the biceps were getting weak. I didnt know at the time but there was pretty decent damage in my shoulder. Anyway, I booked in an appointment with the "shoulder doctor" and saw Professor Kochhar. He asked me to do this and that and give feedback, the usual stretches etc to gather feedback as to the extent of damage, and to make some kind of diagnosis. He didn't push me into having an operation and instead suggested I try physio and that in any case I should book in for an MRI scan. He wanted to exhaust the other means first. But I knew, or at least was confident that physio would not help me any longer. By memory, the MRI scan revealed some damage, but it didn't suggest something really bad was happening. It could justify an operation or I could try more of the same. I opted for the operation. As it turned out my shoulder had a lot of issues, and the initial scheduled time of the operation was too short, so Professor Kochhar took additional time, kept operating on my shoulder, and finished what needed to be done. I'm not a doctor so I cant explain what he did but I know I had a SLAP tear, and some other tendon problems.. plus a load of scar tissue that needed to be removed. I'm grateful he took o the extra time and did such a great job. After the operation I somehow felt immediately better, like some huge tension in my neck and back was released. Of course I could be dreaming this up, but in the days that ensued I felt better that's for sure. I worked hard at the rehab. I think you really have to do that. I took it seriously and kept pushing at it. The operation was pretty serious, as I was saying, and the MRI scan seemed to not show the full extent of the damage. I am very thankful to Professor Kochhar. Its changed my life - literally. I wonder sometimes how bad my shoulder would have been if I had not had the operation. I can do pretty much anything as before. I can lift weights, swim, play tennis, boxing.. its as thought its new. The only side effect is I cannot sleep sideways on it for too long, its somehow a little sensitive. Again on the positive side my pain is gone, no more aching and I can do pretty much anything I could do before. Its actually in better shape than my other (un-operated) shoulder. Whatever I was charged, its probably the best money I'll ever spend. Thanks again Professor Kochhar for doing a wonderful job, its made a positive impact on my life.
Tony was fantastic - he really listened and gave helpful practical advice. I would be happy to recommend him!
Thank you to the whole team for looking after me so well. I've recovered better than I could ever have expected. I would highly recommend to friends and family.
GREAT EXPERIENCE WITH AN EXCELLENT SURGEON

Truly excellent surgeon who knows what he's doing. HIs team were also very helpful in sorting out appointments not only with him but also for MRI etc. despite my hectic schedule - thank you!
Great care throughout thank you!
Quick appointment, great advice and treatment. Five stars from me!
I wanted to leave this review as I'm very happy with the treatment I've received with Tony Kochhar. I've seen other specialists but only Tony has been methodical in his approach and shown me exactly what is going on each step of the way.
I have found Professor Kochhar to be an honest, knowledgeable and professional man who I would trust implicitly. He has helped me greatly with a very difficult situation I was in, having been let down by another consultant. They are as different as chalk and cheese. If you have a shoulder problem, I have no hesitation in recommending him.
I have seen Professor Kochhar for a second opinion and would like to leave positive feedback. He was patient and took the time to listen to me. I was correctly diagnosed by him (I know because I am no longer in pain!) and he was patient in recommending I try physio first which I did and only suggested an operation when this did not work. When he did eventually operate it was done under local anaesthetic as I was not comfortable going under general. I was aware of everything that was going on throughout. He and his team have been fantastic.
It is clear why Professor Kochhar is a leading figure in his field. I had been suffering with shoulder damage for some time before I decided to see him and from my first consultation he and his team have been excellent in their care and efficiency. I am in no doubt that my successful recovery is a direct result of Professor Kochhar’s treatment and invaluable advice. I trust him implicitly and would only recommend him for problems of this nature.
Professor Kochhar has treated me for shoulder pain which has been a problem for a while. He accurately assessed me, and then put together a treatment plan which was clear to me and my physiotherapist. He and his team liaised with my physiotherapist throughout my treatment to make sure my recovery was going to plan. Thank you Professor Kochhar for looking after me so well!
I have felt looked after from the start to finish with Professor Kochhar and would highly recommend him to all my friends and family. I received such an exceptional service and was really pleased.
Dr. Kochhar has always provided me with the absolute best care, and I believe, best advice and treatment during every visit. He takes the time to be caring even while maintaing a very efficient office.
Professor Kochhar had been excellent throughout my treatment. The surgery itself was a massive success and he has given honest, frank advice and feedback that has extremely useful in the recovery. He is clearly a leading expert in injuries around the shoulder area.
Professor Kochhar and his colleagues make a great team. Initial consultation, MRI, follow up consultation and subsequent treatment were all carried out in under a week. Very impressive.
Professor Tony Kochhar is very Knowledgeable and experienced shoulder specialist. All my patients had good experience with him.
