About

Dr Pierre-Marc Bouloux has been the Director of the Center for Neuroendocrinology, at the Royal Free Campus University College London (UCL), England, since 1991. He is also Professor of Endocrinology at UCL. His department is currently conducting the research on the transplantation of stem cells in the pancreas (the islets of Langerhans) to treat type 1 diabetes. He also acts as principal consultant in endocrinology and diabetes for the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust.

Professor Pierre-Marc Bouloux has been the Director of the Center for Neuroendocrinology, at the Royal Free Campus University College London (UCL), England, since 1991. He also acts as principal consultant in endocrinology and diabetes for the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust. He qualified as a doctor in 1977 and he is widely experienced as an endocrinologist, author of several books on endocrinology and general medicine, including 'Diagnostic Tests in Endocrinology and Diabetes'. He has published over 300 articles in various medical reviews.

As a Professor of Endocrinology at UCL, Pierre and his team are conducting research on the transplantation of stem cells in the pancreas (the islets of Langerhans) to treat type 1 diabetes. 

Pierre is married with three children and enjoys music, sports and travel.
