I met Pallav Shah after experiencing a very very bad reaction to Covid. I actually didn't believe the virus would affect me , I am super fit and could run a marathon with no training if I had to. In a week , I couldn't breath properly or make it up the stairs. Even talking was hard. I didn't do anything about it for 6 months until I got to the point my lungs were hurting everyday and basic things were too hard. I met him and he prescribed we a combination of medication that wasn't too strong and we adapted it as we went along and I loved his approach of listening to the body. I am now on holiday, swimming , training etc - I am not as fit cardio wise as I was but I am only on one medication and getting better everyday. This man changed my life and I can't thank him enough - truly the best and nicest doctor but putting him aside his job is to cure you 100% and I am 95% there , so I am very grateful - Johnny

Professor Pallav Shah - diagnosed and treated me with a condition that I had previously been suffering with for over 5yrs. I had seeked medical assistance previously but it was mis-diagnosed. He listened and understood my symptoms and made a quick diagnosis. Since starting the treatment prescribed by Professor Shah my condition is managed and I am no longer suffering.

I have never met anyone with the knowledge and expertise of Professor Pallav Shah that has such an amazing 'bedside manner' towards his patient and other half. He made my wife feel at ease immediately and explained the chest xrays and procedures he was looking to undertake. This made my wife immediately feel at ease. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Professor Shah has known me for a few years and has given me excellent advice on how to treat my asthma. He is happy to suggest new medication. He advised me to stop working with young children since then my asthma is much better. He is a very caring person. He always greets you with a reassuring smile. One feels that one is in excellent hands.

Explanation

I have been seeing Professor Shah since 2012 for an illness that took time to diagnose. Once diagnosed Professor Shah ensured I received prompt treatment and regular check-ups to monitor progress with the illness. The illness relapsed after clearing in 2014 or 2015 and he has ensured we have taken a more cautious approach to initially taking me off the medication and on-going monitoring after it cleared again. He has been very patient in explaining reasons for his treatment recommendations and always asked if I required more information.

Explanation

I was referred to Professor Shah by my GP, Dr Mark Bushnell of the Sloane Street Surgery. Over the summer I experienced difficulty breathing and was very congested (at times a bit alarming). It seemed to get worse in heat and humidity. I had difficult sleeping and coughed up phlegm. At my initial consultation, Professor Shah said 'I can help'-very reassuring. He heard the wheezing and saw the results of the breathing test which showed pretty severe congestion. He immediately prescribed an inhaler, various nasal sprays and a nightly pill. I made an appointment to see him the following week. At this appointment my chest was beginning to clear and I was breathing better but not 100%. I have just returned from my 1 month appointment. My lungs are completely clear and I am moving about normally (up and down stairs, long walks etc). I left with 4 months of prescriptions and will return after 4 months for a check up. Needless to say I can't praise Professor Shah more highly. He is professional, thoughtful and diagnosed my situation perfectly. My quality of life has improved dramatically. One of the best medical practitioners I have ever encountered.
