Professor Luigi Gnudi, Honorary Consultant Physician in Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolic Medicine, is currently working within the Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Prof Gnudi began his medical training in Italy, where he received an MD with honours from the University of Parma. Following this, he then undertook his residency in the School of Diabetes and Endocrinology at the University of Padua. He then moved to the US where he worked for 2 years as a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard Medical School in Boston. Following his time in the US, he returned to the UK and was joined the Unit for Metabolic Medicine as a Senior Lecturer. In 2005, he was appointed a Fellow for the Royal College of Physicians and the American Society of Nephrology. His expertise was further acknowledged in 2011 when he was appointed Professor of Diabetes and Metabolic Medicine.
