He is an Honorary Consultant at both the Evelina London Children's Hospital and Royal Brompton London Hospital, where he specialises in cardiology. In addition, he is Executive member and immediate past Chair of PECSIG – the Royal College of Paediatrics & Child Health subspecialty group for paediatric cardiology. Consequently, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his field.
Dr. Poothirikovil holds several prestigious positions within the medical community. He has played a significant role in numerous clinical research projects and his work has been published in many respected medical journals. He also holds an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer position at Brighton & Sussex Medical School and is the Deputy Lead for MSc Paediatrics and MSc Cardiology programs at BSMS. Great with my 2 year old son, friendly and completely understood the treatment plan that was suggested and why. Just annoyed we didn't go to him sooner

Having waited on significant waiting lists on the NHS for an appointment we decided to go private to get answers for our 2 year old daughter. Dr Venu, has been fantastic he requested an x-ray to get a clear clinical picture of our daughters chest issues. On examination he was kind and curteous to both us as parents and my daughter. He listened to everything we had to say and gave us clear diagnoses with a brilliant action plan. If we could have seen him for our daughters allergies as well we would have as we feel he really cares and listens.

After 26 days of sickness we finally have answers. Dr Venu Poothirikovil put our minds at rest after my son had a horrid bout of food poisoning and the sickness just didn’t want to subside. We now know why and what to do about it. My son feels so much relief after all that has gone on with his stomach and vomiting.
