Dr. Theocharis specialized in Paediatrics and obtained her Ph.D. in Greece, followed by her extensive Paediatric Cardiology training in the UK. Her interest in research began early on in her career and, resulting in her publishing numerous articles and book chapters in paediatric cardiology, echocardiography, early stages of atherosclerosis from childhood, pulmonary hypertension, and neonatology.
Dr. Theocharis is based at The Portland Hospital and at Evelina London Children's Hospital (ELCH), one of the leading centers for Paediatric Cardiology in Europe since 2017. She has specialized in advanced echocardiography, structural echocardiography, inpatient patient management, pulmonary hypertension, and Kawasaki Disease.
Dr. Theocharis provides extended outpatient consultations for the majority of heart problems in children including heart murmurs, chest pain, palpitations, valve disease, pulmonary hypertension, endothelial disease. She is also a member of the Multidisciplinary Kawasaki team and the recently described Multi Inflammatory syndrome at ELCH which is unique in the country and leading in the cardiology section of it. Dr. Theocharis is also a keen researcher, and her extensive scientific background supports her to provide up-to-date, evidence-based care and management to your children.

I visited Dr Paraskevi Theocharis with my 6 year old son, following a referral from my GP who detected a heart murmur. My son was nervous about the numerous tests but was immediately put at ease by Dr Theocharis’ calm and friendly manner. Her explanations were very clear and she answered any questions I had. Communication was very thorough, clear and reassuring.

She did my 7 years old son’s Echocardiogram. It was his first one and she makes him so calm by talking to him and explain every steps. During the process she made sure he is comfortable and not stressed. Besides she is so professional, kind and caring.

I cannot recommend Dr. Paraskevi Theocharis highly enough. Our daughter's diagnosis was quite a shock to us however Dr. Theocharis was extremely understanding and explained clearly the diagnosis and treatment required. Dr. Theocharis spoke softly but pragmatically which is what we needed at the time. We felt safe knowing that our daughter was (and still is) under her care.

Dr Theocharis was extremely helpful to our daughter, being very warm and kind through our initial consultation and following conversations. She conducted a very thorough and detailed examination, clearly explaining everything in detail. She took the time to listen to all of our questions and concerns around our daughter, sharing her experiences with the condition, and gave us a lot of reassurance. She showed a great deal of care and followed up directly regarding the next stages, options and to arrange the appointment. Dr Theocharis was fantastic in all our dealing and we highly recommend.
