After many years of not being able to burp, and after seeing many health professionals, Mr Karagama is the only one who listened and took me seriously. He was very friendly and made me feel at ease when I had to have a camera.

Mr Karagama made me feel very comfortable and regularly updated me with any information sheets/forms relating to the procedure. He was very thorough with his explanations at my original diagnositic consultation and made me very knowledgeable of the whole condition I was suffering from. The day of the procedure was very well ran and Mr Karagama spoke to me pre surgery and explained to me what was going to happen which was very accurate. The procedure itself was painless as I was asleep during it and after it I felt very little discomfort. I would like to thank Mr Karagama for giving my life back.

Mr Karagama is a kind and respectful consultant who listened to my experience and concerns. After many months of intrusive investigations and no clear explanation for my debilitating gastro symptoms, I stumbled upon R-CPD online. Soon afterwards I met Mr Karagama, who was quickly able to identify my symptoms as being consistent with R-CPD. I had treatment (pharyngoscopy and Botox injections into the cricopharyngeal muscle). This has enabled me to properly burp, and get relief from burping, for the first time in my life. It seems my previous inability to burp was the first domino in a whole host of painful and debilitating gastro symptoms, all of which have disappeared or vastly improved since the surgery. These improvements have been sustained beyond 12 weeks. I am very grateful to Mr Karagama and highly recommend him to patients who have, or suspect they have, R-CPD.

Mr Karagama is one of the kindest, most understanding surgeons I have ever come across. He listens to you as a patient, takes his time and explains everything and he looked after me through a really difficult time. I travelled all the way from Scotland for treatment with him and I would not hesitate to do so again. I would highly recommend him for any ENT issues and his Practice Manager Jo, is also amazing! She is kind, extremely helpful and really supported me with organising my treatment. Together they made my life a lot easier and I’m extremely grateful to them both for all that they have done to help me recover.

Really great experience with Mr Karagama. A kind, patient surgeon who really cares about his patients. He managed to inject Botox accurately for my R-CPD despite my small throat aperture. The relief from the symptoms has been amazing.

I have suffered with not being able to burp all of my life which has often led to having an uncomfortable, sometimes painful stomach after eating. I have tried to sort this problem out but have always been unsuccessful. This experience with Mr Karagama has been brilliant, and I am now able to burp. The procedure was very quick and all went smoothly. I would highly recommend this procedure with Mr Karagama.

Excellent doctor, answered all my questions clearly. I felt I was in good hands for my Botox injection for inability to burp and I’m feeling much better now. His PA Jo is also amazing, organised and gets back to you quickly - which is unfortunately quite unusual for medical PAs!
