Excellent in looking after me. Obviously can not comment on the HoLEP procedure as beyond my understanding. I did have to make a decision on my own to stay one extra night rather than being advised safe to leave.

It is now almost 5 months since the HoLEP procedure by Mr Aho, and I have been thrilled by the results. Before then I had been plagued by very weak urine flow, an urgency to urinate, not being able to empty my bladder, having to get up many times at night and the worry at times that I could not urinate at all. I had been on various drugs to shrink my prostate and alleviate the conditions, but whilst these drugs had had some success the underlying issue was certainly not getting any better. Surgery was not an “if” but a “when”. Given I am in really good health, I decided to go ahead with the HoLEP procedure, and I am so pleased I did! The whole process was uncomfortable rather than painful and there was a positive result immediately after the operation. Quite amazing! It did take things a few months for it all to settle down and doing the pelvic floor exercise helped, but I am now urinating like a “waterfall” and much more in control! I am very much back to normal activity, going the gym, playing golf etc. One other point, when Mr Aho did the operation, he unexpectantly found some cancerous cells in the wall on the bladder which he immediately removed. Without the operation this cancer would have gone unnoticed, and no doubt caused problems for me in later life. I am hugely grateful to My Aho for all the help he has given me. It was not only his great skill in the operation itself but also in the exceptional advice and care he gave me throughout the process. Thank you very much Mr Aho.

Mr Aho has a calming and reassuring manner and was very good at explaining the operation I would undergo, the potential risks and the potential benefits. Of course I looked for more details on the Internet, but found nothing that he had not already addressed. When it came to making the decision to go ahead I felt I had the information I needed and did not feel pressurised to say yes. Mr Aho's visits to me in hospital before and after the operation always made me feel that I was in good hands and significantly reduced the stress that I felt. I would not hesitate to recommend him to friends and family needing similar treatment.

Mr. Aho is an excellent Consultant and talented Surgeon. He has an relaxed bedside manor and is able to make you feel reassured and confident about the HoLEP procedure. Mr. Aho explain clearly the reason why HoLEP was suitable for my condition and what would happen pre and post HoLEP. The outcome of my operation was exactly as Mr. Aho described and predicted and the operation has been a complete success. Mr. Aho has improved my quality of life and given me the confidence to do things which were not possible before HoLEP. My two biggest fears before the operation were Erectile Dysfunction and Incontinence, and i am pleased to report that both have NOT happened and in fact i have seen a measurable improvement in both areas. I consider the Dry Orgasm is a small and willing price to pay for the overall improvement in quality of life. The follow up consultations were on time, informative and reassuring. Finally i would like to mention Katie Collins Mr. Aho's secretary who ensures the admin processes happen with the same smooth efficiency.

Mr Aho is undoubtedly one of the world’s experts in the use of the HoLEP procedure and I was delighted to be under his care for this operation. I had been struggling for a few years with my prostate symptoms and then had to be catheterised in hospital. After this episode, I decided to proceed with the surgery as soon as possible and the operation was carried out at the Princes Grace Hospital in London. Mr Aho explained the details of the operation carefully and the possible post op complications. His manner was always reassuring and I felt very confident in his surgical expertise.
