An excellent experience

September 2021 I experienced the very unpleasant condition known as Urine Retention, in other words I could not pass water. I had a Catheter fitted and a bag, I was put on Tamsulosin the drug given to men with an Enlarged Prostate. I had the Catheter removed on two occasions, once after four weeks and again after ten weeks,but unfortunately retention returned after forty eight hours. My brother had the same problem a few years earlier and told me he had the HoLEP Laser treatment, I mentioned this at the hospital, and said it was what I wanted. Mr Aho carried out my operation on 14th Jan 2022, and it was for me the right decision to have this procedure. I am now on no drugs , I sleep for 6 hours most nights , sometimes 7 or 8 before needing the toilet, I can go out for walks and not need to know where all the public toilets are. I would say to anyone consider it as an option, It has given me a better quality of life, and I am grateful to Mr Aho for this

I found Mr Tev Aho very professional and confident in his explanation of the Holep procedure, putting me totally at ease before the operation. After the operation he waited to see how I had faired and was at my bedside very early the following morning to see how I was and to carry out further checks to ensure everything was in order. I was extremely impressed in the way that he carried out these checks instilling in me utter confidence of his ability and professionalism

I met Mr Aho briefly before my operation, in the recovery ward and in the follow up appointment. On each occasion he seemed unhurried, listened and was willing to answer questions. I felt confident with him as my surgeon.

Mr Aho has excellent communication skills and was very reassuring and knowledgeable when discussing the HoLep procedure with me prior to the operation. He has considerable experience in HoLep which I understand is particularly important for this procedure so I considered myself fortunate in having someone with his credential’s to perform my operation. His bedside manner is excellent and he was always willing to take time to discuss my concerns. From the first time I met Mr Aho my mind was at placed ease that I had one of the best surgeon’s performing my HoLep procedure. This was also complemented by the efficient management of the process from beginning to end. I’d have no reservation in recommending him to anyone in the future.
