Mr Simon Ruben has been a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon since 1996. He qualified from St Bartholomew’s Medical School in 1985 and completed his ophthalmology training at Southampton Eye Hospital, the Western Ophthalmic Hospital London and the Birmingham Eye Hospital.
Mr Ruben’s specialist areas are cataract surgery and glaucoma, in which he has completed fellowship training and achieved his MD at Moorfield’s Eye Hospital. He has over 20 years of experience in the medical and surgical treatment of both simple and complex cases of glaucoma. He is now the lead clinician for glaucoma in Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospital Trust.
With around 10,000 cataract operations, he also has a wealth of surgical experience and expertise in this field. Beyond his specialist areas Mr Ruben is happy to see any ophthalmic referrals over the age of 16.
