Mr Murthy obtained Diploma in Orthopaedics in 1987 from the University of Madras, He was awarded FRCS in 1989, Masters degree in Orthopaedics from Liverpool University and Intercollegiate Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery in 1999. He completed Senior Registrar training in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital in Dublin, gaining extensive experience in hip and knee replacement, He had further training in knee reconstruction and replacement in the Professorial unit at the Southampton University Hospital,
His Sports Fellowship Training in shoulder and knee injuries for 18 months was at the prestigious Royal Devon and Exeter Hospitals. He had the privilege of undergoing training in Shoulder & Elbow surgery under the guidance of two Past Presidents of British Elbow and Shoulder Society.

Mr Murthy has a very calming manner, which puts you at ease straight away. Everything was explained as to why I needed my surgery, from admission to my recuperation.

Mr Murthy has been professional, kind and has explained everything to do with my shoulder resurfacing. He has answered all my queries and I would definitely recommend him. I have arthritis in my other shoulder too so if the need arises for another surgery then I hope he is my consultant. Thank you very much for the mobility and lack of arthritic pain now x
