Mr Samuel Ford is a Consultant Surgeon at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham with a specialist interest in general, upper gastrointestinal and sarcoma surgery. Mr Ford trained in general and upper GI surgery in the South West and after completion of training in 2014 undertook further specialist fellowships in sarcoma surgery in Birmingham and Milan. He was awarded a PhD in cancer biology from the University of Birmingham following a three year period as the Cancer Research UK Clinical Research Fellow.
Mr Ford's is very active in the field of research, with his portfolio centred on optimising outcomes for patients with sarcoma and neuroendocrine tumours. Mr Ford is supervising two PhD students and is setting up a series of international randomised trials. In addiction to his supervisorship, Mr Ford has published papers on sarcoma management and has contributed to international consensus statements on the management of sarcoma and gastrointestinal stromal tumours. Mr Ford is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Birmingham and sits on the Neuroendocrine Tumour Expert Advisory Group and EORTC board for Sarcoma.

He is very professional, patient and understanding. He will take his time to explain so that you are able to understand everything about your treatment. I have no hesitation in recommending him to family and friends. First class.

Mr Ford was very patient with my elderly Aunt & Uncle, and gave clear and concise information to them both, loudly so they could hear him. Due to Covid he even made it possible for me to telephone in to the meeting so I could, listen, contribute & take notes. It also helped that Mr Ford has a good sense of humour too. I would certainly recommend Mr Ford to anyone that is thinking of visiting him in the future. Also the booking process with his PA Lisa was made far easier, as Lisa is very helpful and understanding. Thank you to you both for all your help.

I am now feeling very well after the surgery performed by Mr. Ford , I had confidence in him from our first meeting and appreciated the time he took to discuss all aspects of the procedure.
