About
I am a Consultant General and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon at Croydon University Hospital in the National Health Service and at BMI Shirley Oaks Hospital in Croydon. I specialise in the acute management of emergency gallstones cases and have stablished an acute pathway for managing these cases at Croydon. I also have a particular interest in abdominal wall hernia surgery, having established and am the lead for the Croydon MDT for complex hernias. A significant proportion of my cases are performed with keyhole surgery although a tailored, patient-centered approach is my preferred method for choosing the right operation for each patient. I am the lead upper gastrointestinal (GI) surgeon at Croydon University Hospital and am dedicated to developing the service for the benefit of local patients.
I also developed the anti-reflux surgical service at Croydon and perform more than 15 cases per year of acid reflux surgery at this location.

Mr Rhys Thomas
Thank you so much for taking time to write this. ALL feedback is really valuable but the feedback when things haven't quite gone according to plan are the most most important...and the ones we always remember most clearly. I use them to improve where I can. All of my patients can come back to see me any time if there is a problem and there are queries to be addressed. Thanks again!
