Mr Ravi Pandit is a Trauma and Orthopaedic surgeon who has a special interest in shoulder, elbow, wrist & hand injuries as well as Orthopaedic problems such as arthritis, rotator cuff tears, frozen shoulders, shoulder Impingement, calcific tendinitis, shoulder & elbow dislocations etc. and knee joints. He has specialised in sports injuries as well as arthritis of these joints.
He earned his MBBS degree from the University of Mumbai after which he trained in Orthopaedics leading to the M.S.(Orth) in 1985. Mr Pandit graduated with an FRCS in 1993 and undertook Orthopaedic training in the UK on the Charing Cross/Hammersmith Hospitals rotation that covered Hillingdon, Mt Vernon, Ealing, Central Middlesex as well as Charing Cross Hospitals. He graduated with the FRCS (Orth) in 1998.
He undertook a year's Hand and Wrist Fellowship at the renowned St Andrew's Centre and the Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge. Later, he was appointed as a substantive consultant at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital in 2000 dealing with Trauma (fractures and dislocations) and Orthopaedics. He did a Hip and Knee joint replacement clinical Fellowship at the famous St Joseph's Hospital in London, Ontario in 1990. Annually he performs over 200 operations and thus has experience in Orthopaedics including arthroscopic (key-hole) surgery, joint replacements of the shoulder, elbow and knees and trauma surgery. He also deals with sports injuries of the shoulder. Mr Pandit undertakes complex Shoulder and Elbow surgery, including revision joint replacements, rotator cuff tears and total shoulder replacement for arthritis, as well as the Reverse polarity Shoulder replacement for cuff arthropathy.
In wrist surgery he specialises in Arthroscopic repair of the TFCC and wrist joint replacements. Furthermore, he undertakes Dupuytren's releases in the hand and joint replacements in the thumb and finger joints. In the elbow he does arthroscopic elbow surgery for tennis elbow and arthritis. He is the senior surgeon at the Luton Dunstable Hospital and has been as Clinical Director in Orthopaedics. He also trains junior Orthopaedic trainees on the Cambridge and East Anglia rotation. He is an educational supervisor of junior doctors. He keeps himself updated in the field of Orthopaedic surgery and attends international meetings such as the British Shoulder and Elbow Society meeting, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons as well as others in Europe. He has publications on shoulder joint replacements in International Orthopaedic journals. He has presented his results on shoulder replacements in International Orthopaedic meetings. He has presented his results of replacements of the 1st CMC Joint of the thumb at the British Hand Society meeting.

Mr Pandit completed his basic medical and Orthopaedic training in Bombay, India. In the UK he completed the FRCS (Eng) and then went on to specialist training Orthopaedic surgical rotation on the Hammersmith & Charing Cross Hospitals leading to the FRCS (Trauma & Orthopaedics) in 1998. He then did a fellowship in Hand & Wrist surgery at Broomfield Hospital & Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge in 1999. In 1990 he did a Hip & Knee surgery fellowship in London Ontario, Canada. Graduated from St Mary's Hospital Medical School at Imperial College School of Medicine London. He has been on visitations to Bordeaux, France, which specialises in Shoulder replacement surgery.
