Mr Rakesh Kucheria is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in lower limb arthroplasty, such as hip and unicondylar knee replacements, revision hip and total knee replacements. He has spent the last 18 years working at Heatherwood and Wexham Park hospitals, where he is the lead clinician for his department and has received clinical excellence awards for his work.
Mr Kucheria completed his training at the Royal London Hospital and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore. He has vast expertise in endoprosthetic repair for failed arthroplasty and pathological fractures, as well as total hip and total knee replacement, unicondylar knee replacement, hip resurfacing, and revision surgeries.
Mr Kucheria has recently worked with computer-assisted surgery and navigated knee replacements. He also has a strong interest in trauma treatment and treats a wide range of traumatic injuries including upper limb fractures, ankle fractures, and lower limb fractures. He also leads the Enhanced Recovery Program, a revolutionary joint replacement pathway designed to reduce post-operative pain and increase early joint mobility.
Mr Kucheria has two children and enjoys sports such as cricket, golf, and tennis. He also coaches an under-11 cricket team in Middlesex.
