Mr Phillip Alderman is a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon who specialises with Hip & Knee arthroplasty with more than 20 years experience. He is dedicated to the investigation and relief of the pain of hip and knee arthritis by means of replacement surgery.

Mr Alderman gained his primary medical qualifications at the University of Bristol and went on to the undertake his basic surgical training in Nottingham and Liverpool. After this, Mr Alderman became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1987. He then undertook further training in South Wales and was appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Royal Gwent Hospital Newport in 1994. Since his appointment, Mr Alderman has implemented the concept of closing Hip and Knee replacement wounds with surgical 'Superglue', being the first Orthopaedic Surgeon in Newport to perform Total and Partial Knee replacement using personalised Instrumentation.
