Mr Petr Hanek

Mr. Petr Hanek is a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon with over 25 years of experience in laparoscopic procedures for bowel cancers, abdominal hernias, anal fistulas and fissures, benign colorectal diseases, and pelvic pain conditions. He sees private patients at the BMI Chelsfield Park Hospital, the BMI Blackheath Hospital, and the Spire Alexandra Hospital.

Mr. Hanek earned his primary medical qualification at Charles University, Prague, after which he undertook his basic and advanced training at Prague University Hospital. Upon completion of his training, Mr. Hanek was appointed Lead Bowel Cancer Surgeon. After leading Bowel Cancer Surgery at Prague University Hospital for 12 years, Mr. Hanek came to the UK and was appointed Consultant General & Colorectal Surgeon at the Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust. He also gained fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons and began his private practice at the Spire Alexandra Hospital, where he is also able to speak to his patients in Russian, Czech, or Slovakian, in addition to English. 

Since his Consultant appointment at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust, Mr. Hanek has become a member of the Association of Coloproctology and the Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons.
