Mr Pasquale Giordano has been a consultant surgeon at the Royal London Hospital and Whipps Cross University Hospital (Barts Health NHS Trust) since 2002 , later being appointed clinical lead for the Colorectal Department of the Barts Health Trust in 2012. Mr Giordano is currently the Clinical Lead for the Pelvic Floor and Functional Bowel Disorders of the Royal London Hospital and Clinical Lead for the Abdominal Wall Surgery service.
After graduating from the University of Naples, Italy in 1990, Mr Giordano has accumulated a wealth of surgical experience. He initially trained in Italy and the UK before specialising in colorectal surgery by pursuing a fellowship at the Department of Colorectal Surgery of the Cleveland Clinic, Florida and a Senior Colorectal Fellowship at the Centre for Academic Surgery at the Royal London Hospital. Furthermore, he has given lectures and live surgical demonstrations all over the world to go with his numerous scientific papers, which have appeared in prominent medical journals.
This expanse of professional experience, which has taken place around the globe, has helped Mr Giordano to build an international reputation for his high standard of care and training, so much so that both senior colorectal trainees from nearby and abroad are attracted to work with him. Moreover, many of the patients that he has treated are referred from all over the UK and even overseas.
In recent years, Mr Giordano has focused on developing new treatment methods for common conditions such as haemorrhoids, anal fissure and faecal incontinence. Subsequently, he was the first UK-based surgeon to use the transanal hemorrhoidal dearterialization (THD) technique and is currently the surgeon with the most experience of this procedure in the UK. He also directs the only THD training course that is both available in the UK accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons.
It is therefore easy to see why Mr Giordano is regarded as one of the UK's leading colorectal surgeons—a consultant who remains reknowned for his dedication to both his work with both patients and research.

Highly recommended - very knowledgeable and experienced colorectal specialist. I've booked a consultation with Mr Giordano in search of a second opinion and hope to end 1.5yrs of pain and agony as unfortunately I had been incorrectly diagnosed and put forward to evasive treatments by what so called 'private specialists'. Mr Giordano assessment was spot-on. He told me what he was sure of and what was he not so sure of and explained why. It all made sense and suggested a very simple treatment that actually cured me. I’m extremely grateful and cannot thank him enough for giving me my life back. All the best!

I had previous consultants who unfortunately did not resolve the issues I was experiencing. However when I first met Dr Giordano, it was immediately apparent that he was miles above the rest. My first impressions were that he actually cared about me and did a thorough examination which my other consultants didn't really do to the level that Dr Giordano did. He explained the issues and procedure in great detail, using diagrams and clear, concise wording leaving me feeling confident that he was the right surgeon for me. I would highly recommend him to others and I am very happy with the progress I'm making under his care.

So far so good, only 1 consultation to date and apart from the internal examination I had a good experience and learnt a great deal about my medical issues. Mr Giordano has a great bedside manner and does make you feel at ease.

I received excellent treatment from Mr. Giordano, from the initial consultation, my surgery, and follow up consultation. He explained what the surgery would entail and the follow up recovery timescale.

I went to see Mr Giordano following a prolonged case of constipation. Although apparently not a symptom, upon a quick rectal examination Mr Giordano found evidence of what he suspected was cancer. He quickly arranged a CT scan, MRI scan and coloniscopy which confirmed his suspicion. As a person with a lifelong fear of medical examinations and operations I found all the treatment expertly and considerately handled. The colonoscopy was a very quick and painless procedure expertly handled.
