Mr Nick Woodcock is a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon based at the York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and York Nuffield Hospital. He graduated from the University of Leeds Medical School in 1994. After basic surgical training he undertook a period of research into gut function in surgical and critically ill patients, which produced several articles published in peer-reviewed journals and the award of an MD in 2003. Following higher surgical training he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2005, and was appointed to his current post the following year. His clinical interests are emergency surgery, inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal failure, enterocutaneous fistula and nutritional support.
