About
Mr Mohamed Ahmed is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in the UK.
Mr Ahmed completed his specialist registrar training in Trauma and Orthopaedics in Norway in 2011. He then went on to complete a spinal fellowship at Cardiff University Hospital where he gained an excellent surgical experience across the full range of spinal procedures with the very latest techniques. He then chose to take a specialist interest in degenerative conditions of the spine, spinal deformity trauma, infections and tumours of the spine.
Mr Ahmed has published in peer review journals and presented at national and international meetings as well as being actively involved in teaching medical students. Mr Ahmed currently practices at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow where he is involved in the development and expansion of the spinal unit.

I had the necessity to book an appointment with Mr Ahmed following an unsatisfactory Hospital appointment at the Orthopaedic and Trauma Unit. Mr Ahmed was extremely pleasant from the start. He introduced himself and directed me to his office. We both sat down at his computer and he asked me how I was. He sat and listened to what I was saying and without doubt he was taking everything in. We were both wearing face masks which did cause some problems with me having to ask for an answer again. Mr Ahmed had no problem with this. Following my explanation he directed me to his computer where he had my MRI Scan displayed. He then went through all the issues with my back. He told me what the problem was in a detailed explanation and in terms that I could clearly understand. Throughout my appointment I felt extremely comfortable and relaxed. I would highly recommend Mr Ahmed and I will certainly look to seeing him again for any similar issues.

Mr Ahmed made me feel at ease from the very first appointment. Mr Ahmed listened to me with empathy and respect, he talked me through the procedure before surgery so I knew exactly what it entailed, and what to expect. On the day of surgery Mr Ahmed and his anaesthetist were very caring, and again, made me feel at ease to have my care in their hands. Before surgery I was unable to carry out my everyday activities without pain. Now I am back to my usual active self, and will be forever thankful to Mr Ahmed and his wonderful team.

Read moreMy care, under Mr Mohamed Ahmed and his team was outstanding from start to finish. I was in a lot of pain with a herniated disc at L3/4 and conventional conservative treatment did not help. Mr Ahmed recommended a laser discectomy on the herniated disc which he carried out under sedation rather than being fully anesthetized, the procedure only took a couple of hours one morning. I walked out of the hospital without pain the same morning with no large wound only a needle sized puncture in my side. Thank you Mr Ahmed and all your team for all you have done.

During this time I have found him to be very approachable, sympathetic to my condition and reassuring during the procedure and follow up appointments. Whilst my condition is still not resolved, I have every faith in Mr Ahmed that he will solve the issue. In addition, for me the fact that both times after my procedure he came to see me before I left the hospital, shows he cares for his patients. I can highly recommend.
