About
Mr. Michael Cronin is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with over a decade of experience in the treatment and management of hip and groin problems. His NHS post is in Swansea but he treats private patients across South Wales and has a further private practice in Warwickshire. Mr. Cronin centres his practice around individualised patient therapy and believes that hip pain is not normal, and no patient should live their lives suffering continuously. He specialises in SuperPATH hip replacement, minimally invasive surgery and hip arthroscopy (keyhole surgery).
He sees private patients at the Nuffield Cardiff Bay, Nuffield Vale and the Nuffield Warwickshire Hospital.
Mr. Cronin qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School (Imperial College School of Medicine) in 2000 and went on to undertake his basic and specialist training, where he gained knowledge and expertise in hip impingement, labral tear, hip dysplasia, and Perthes disease.
Upon completion of his training, Mr. Cronin took up a consultant post in 2012 and has since treated a range of patients in his practice, including young patients with sports injuries and abnormal hip shapes due to hip impingement, as well as more standard patients with arthritis.
Mr. Cronin is well known to provide a holistic level of care to his patients, involving a select group of specialists to improve recovery times and reduce scarring after surgery.
