Mr Matt Ravenscroft is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in shoulder disorders and upper limb trauma. He graduated from St. George's Hospital Medical School and trained in the South West Thames region. Mr Ravenscroft undertook fellowships at Wrightington Upper Limb Unit and the Reading Shoulder Unit and he also spent time in the United States training in upper limb sports injury in the Mayo Clinic, at the University of Washington in Seattle, and in Boston.
Mr Ravenscroft is an expert in ultrasound diagnostics and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, upper limb joint replacement surgery and upper limb sports. Mr Ravenscroft has developed several products used in shoulder surgery nowadays for which he holds patents. He is the UK pioneer in the arthroscopic latarjet procedure for recurrent shoulder instability, and in the use of a tendon replacement graft following arthroscopic superior capsule reconstruction. Mr Ravenscroft is actively involved in teaching, training, mentoring and research. His fellowship progamme has trained many of the shoulder surgeons in Manchester and the North West of England
