Mr Manu Mathew is the clinical lead and a consultant ophthalmologist based at Chesterfield Royal Hospital where he also leads the cornea and external eye disease and glaucoma service. He also holds private consultations at the Alexandra Private Hospital, Chesterfield and BMI Thornbury, Sheffield.

Mr Mathew is experienced in managing complex cases in refractive surgery, glaucoma surgery, and corneal transplants. He has expertise in LASIK and LASEK laser eye surgery, cataract surgery, and intraocular contact lens surgery.

Mr Mathew graduated with his MB BS from the University of Madras before training at various teaching hospitals including the Tennent Institute, Glasgow, and Queen's Medical Centre at the University of Nottingham. Following this, he took up the positions of specialist registrar and clinical lecturer at the University of Nottingham.

Mr Mathew has had an active role in research and has been published in a number of peer-reviewed journals and has presented his work to others in the field.
