My experience from start finish was excellent. I was thoroughly given all the information prior to surgery and very well looked after during and after. Before meeting Mr Akula I had a herniated disc L5-S1 and I was in constant agony. I'm now 9 weeks post op and i already feel like I've got my life back.

My experience with Mr Akula was perfect, from the diagnosis and taking the time to explain everything to giving the treatment options and again explaining how everything works. He was very understanding of personal situations and considerate when dealing with the case. After surgery he made sure to follow up on the recovery which has been great!

I found Mr Akula a very genteel man, he explained my problem in great deal in words that i fully understood and he was extremely sympathetic.

Mr Akula was always professional, friendly and reassuring, explaining everything in terms I could understand and gave me every confidence in having the surgery. My other concern was how my Parkinson’s medication would be managed during surgery , this was dealt with excellently. A positive experience.

I found that Mr Akula gave a good overall explanation of what to expect during and after the surgery. I was very impressed that he phoned my daughter straight after the operation which put her mind at rest. He gave me confidence to go ahead with the treatment after being told by the NHS that I was too old.

Surgery quickly and efficiently organised after options discussed.

I was very nervous of this experience, being an elderly lady, but thanks to Mr. Akula, I was surprised that i sailed through the whole procedure. He explained, in detail , exactly what the problem was, even sending via my e mail pros and cons of having this procedure. He really looked after me on the day of the operation, as if i was the only patient. He consulted nursing staff on my progress, and really made sure i was fit enough to be discharged, with all the information i required when i returned home. He really understood how i was feeling. I couldnt have hoped for a better surgeon. Many thanks to him for my hospital experience.
