I think I said it pretty much in the box before. I am so happy with his approach to medicine and indeed my condition. I have worked very hard in recent years in improving my health taking an holistic approach. It was encouraging to hear that we weren't going to fix my problem (through arthritis) but were going to get to the cause. This is not always the way in medicine these days from my experience, one just deals with the symptoms. Anyway, it was a very encouraging meeting and I look forward to making swift progress out of this situation, fingers crossed without surgery! Thank you.

Where do I even begin? Dr luke Cascarini is quite literally saving lives and going to see him is the best decision I could have made. Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction has completely destroyed my life. I have spent 15 years battling for help and got nowhere. For most of that time, I was told it was muscular and related to stress and anxiety. I knew it was more than that but nobody seemed to have the time for me. Nobody was ever willing to properly investigate the issue, nor the underlying reasons as to why my jaw was so bad and deteriorating so quickly. The result of that is that I now have absolutely no life whatsoever. I am 29 years old and I can't eat anything solid. My mouth opening is restricted to around 20mm and I am on a liquidised diet. This has now led to me being clinically underweight with a very low BMI. My bloods are being monitored due to malnutrition and I am under a dietician. I am a Psychological Therapist who works with children and their residential care staff. Everything I do centres around supporting young people who have experienced significant trauma. My work is a privilege that means everything to me, and it is heartbreaking to admit that I am now at the stage where I am unable to do my job. I am in agony every single day, so it is safe to say that when going to see Luke I had honestly lost all hope.. it really felt like my last chance at a future. I am SO glad I booked that appointment. Luke listened.. he understood.. and for the first time ever, I had found somrone who wanted to investigate my condition in order to consider what my options are. I spent the best part of 45 minutes sobbing to someone I'd just met because I felt so desperate for help by this point, but Luke was kind, and compassionate and patient - something rare to find in healthcare thesedays, sadly. He understood the expense of the surgery I need (bilateral replacement) privately and recommended a surgeon who may be able to help me on the NHS at another London hospital. Luke followed the consultation up immediately with a letter outlining everything we discussed, and the recommendations made for not only the surgery I need and who could help, but also someone who could confirm a diagnosis of what he suspects is the underlying reason as to why my condition is so severe - Elhers Danlos Syndrome. I honestly can not thank Luke enough. If I had the money I would have him do the surgery in a heartbeat. It is a huge operation, but his knowledge, compassion and genuine care for helping people like me would have me more than confident putting my future in his hands. Thankyou, a million times over, to Luke and his team for giving me hope where I had absolutely non. You really are wonderful.

I have known Mr Cascarini for over a decade now going back to the training days. He is now a leading Consultant in Maxillofacial surgery. I refer him patients regularly in his area of expertise. He has always responded very quickly and I get very good feedback from the patients that I refer him. I would highly recommend Mr Cascarini.
