Mr Luke Anderson is a Cataract and Glaucoma surgeon working in South Wales. He graduated from Leicester University in 2002 before carrying out his higher surgical training in Hampshire, followed by Wales. He completed his training in glaucoma in the University Hospital Wales and was then appointed as the glaucoma lead for the Cwm Taf University Trust. He has had multiple training positions in the royal college and is a founder member of the steering group working to implement simulation surgery as part of the training in the curriculum.
Mr Anderson is currently the only surgeon in South Wales experienced in minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, which he performs as a standalone treatment or alongside cataract surgery. His research interests in the field of Ophthalmology includes the digital assessment of vision and the use of data and neural networks to diagnose and assess the prognosis of eye disease. He is currently researching glaucoma care pathways.
