Mr Hubbard was extremely informative and explained In clear terms what would happen during my surgery. Although he warned me of any ‘complications’ and last minute changes that may have to be made during the procedure, he did so in a way that made me feel at ease, and fully confident of his abilities. He was always kind and caring.

Thoroughly professional. Described the surgery I needed and carried it out in a timely way. Neat scar. No post operative problems. Only issues related to difficulties in admin which required chasing for appointments and billing.

Throughout my consultations, operation and post-op, Mr Hubbard took great care to explain each step of the process and to ensure that I understood what to expect. It all happened exactly as explained. I am delighted with the care and attention I received.

Mr Johnathan Hubbard gave me total confidence in his ability to carry out my high risk surgery and prepared me well before surgery. Equally I cannot praise more highly the whole process of surgery and follow up with Mr Hubbard. He was kind and understanding and when I had concerns he took the time to explain and reassure me. Most importantly, he is one of the most highly qualified surgeons in the UK for the procedure of removing the adrenal gland and tumour.

Dr Hubbard carried out my parathyroid surgery in Feb 2020, which involved removing an ectopic gland, for which his level of expertise became very vital as finding these glands were known to be complex in some patients. My view of Dr Hubbard is he is an ethical medical professional who is skilled (found my ectopic gland+being dark-skinned and virtually scarless) resoundingly confident and passionate about his surgical abilities and frank and thorough with his explanations. My appointments with him were never rushed and after a lot of research beforehand and feeling very stressed about my situation, I really wanted to be listened to. Mostly, I didn’t need my list of questions; he was so thorough. He explained the surgery, risks and aftercare and eased a lot of my concerns. Though my physical scar healed very well, my calcium took time to stabilise and he continued to provide me with a high level of aftercare for weeks. I had clear instructions about my medication and how I could contact him, what he hoped for with my care, how to manage any related concerns I had. And, just as the pandemic hit and the lockdown started he immediately told me what would happen with my ongoing care and communicated well with my GP and Endocrinologist, making for a smooth handover of my medical care, he reminded me to look after my wellbeing. So, for anyone out there looking for a skilled parathyroid/thyroid surgeon especially, please research your surgeon’s experience etc., but based on mine, I would strongly recommend this doctor on surgical experience and skill alone so everything else was a welcome bonus.
