Mr Johnathan Hubbard is a Consultant Endocrine and General Surgeon at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals. Mr Hubbard gained his medical degree from Newcastle University in 1991 and went on to undertake an MD in molecular biology. In 2001, he received the Intercollegiate FRCS in General Surgery with a specialist interest in Endocrine Surgery. He then worked in Marseille as an Assistant in Endocrine Surgery with Prof. Jean-Francois Henry, gaining expertise in minimally invasive parathyroid surgery procedures such as Video-Assisted Parathyroidectomy. He also gained experience in laparoscopic adrenal surgery and thyroid cancer surgery. He completed his general and endocrine surgery training in 2002.
In 2004, Mr Hubbard became the first English surgeon to receive the European Board Exam Qualification in Endocrine Surgery. He has a number of publications and book chapters and has edited the textbook 'Principle and Practice of Endocrine Surgery,' which had contributors from the United Kingdom, Europe, the United States, and Asia. He is also a former conference organiser and an executive committee member of the BAETS. He is a member of the International, Francophone, European, and American Associations of Endocrine Surgery (IAES, AFCE, ESES, AAES) and the American Thyroid Association (ATA).

Going into the unknown is always worrying but both Michelle and Mr Hubbard put me at my ease and everything went well with answers to questions they must have had so many times

At the outset Mr Hubbard was very clear and straightforward in his explanation of the issue and its treatment. For the surgery itself I was very happy with the way things went.

From consultation to procedure Mr. Hubbard provided clear input on all elements of the process. At no point was I concerned, and felt very comfortable throughout my time at the London Bridge Hospital.

Great surgeon. I had a thyroid lobectomy procedure done and I checked out the next day. The scar looked good and the doctor answered all the questions I had and was very reassuring. I must say that communicating with his secretary was hard. It would take a really long time to receive a reply and would require me sending reminder emails to receive them. In general my experience was good with this surgeon and would highly recommend him

He was very nice but trying to get in contact with him through he’s secretary was very hard she didn’t get back to me at times and I never knew about medication was also quite I’ll when I got home and couldn’t get any answers

Mr Hubbard was very welcoming and reassuring throughout my appointments with him. He explained the procedure and answered all my questions clearly and patiently without using medical jargon. I am very happy with all my interactions with him.
