Mr Ian Laidlaw qualified from Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1982. Following that, he undertook his specialist training at Christie Hospital, Manchester and the Royal Marsden, London. He also trained as a General Surgeon with a special interest through research and subspecialty training in breast surgery.

Currently, Mr. Laidlaw works in acute and elective General Surgery at a large District General Hospital and is a lead clinician in the Breast Unit. This provides comprehensive breast diagnostics, oncological surgery, reconstructive surgery, and cosmetic and oncology services. Furthermore, he takes a special interest in communication skills in medicine.
