About
Mr Hugh Byrne is a Consultant Gynaecologist specialising in the surgical treatment and management of gynaecological conditions such as fibroids, menstrual disorders and endometriosis, among others. Mr Byrne qualified in medicine at the National University of Ireland in 1998 and was awarded a Membership with the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2003. He completed his specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology in several of London's leading hospitals, including Queen Charlotte's Hospital, St Mary's Hospital and St Bartholomew's Hospital. He later completed a Fellowship in Laparoscopic Surgery in Strasbourg, France.
He practices in the NHS at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust at St George's Hospital in London. He also consults privately and provides private outpatient treatments at the Chelsea Outpatient Centre as well as consultations and operations at Parkside Hospital and the Lister Hospital.
Mr Byrne sees patients with various gynaecological conditions, both common and complex, such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), menstrual disorders and problems, abnormal bleeding and female infertility. He also has several years of experience dealing with pregnancy issues and ectopic pregnancy cases. He has expertise in a number of surgical procedures, including using endoscopy and laparoscopic surgery, such as fibroid removal, hysterectomy, ovarian cyst surgery and endometriosis surgery.
